A friend of mine, Micah Skye, recently posted a recipe for his morning soup and it intrigued me. He mentioned that he had lost 10 pounds from eating this soup each morning for a month. With springtime bursting here on Kauai, I had been mentally preparing for my Spring cleanse, and this soup felt to me to be the perfect way to go into it.
I was inspired to give it a try and super stoked that I had most of the ingredients right out in my garden.
What I love about this green soup is that I can harvest most of it myself, it is easy to make, digests easily, is incredibly healthy, and is a little bit warm (which I love in the morning).
Micah has a passion for food and prepares some of the most amazing cuisine on the planet. He will be, by the way, preparing a great portion of our food for my April 30th yoga retreat here on Kauai! He will be using local, seasonal, and biodynamic foods to create our nourishing and tasty meals. Find out more about this soul quenching, yoga and nature retreat here. There is still time to register and come join us in the fun.
But for today I wanted to share his RAW SOUP RECIPE and my short Q&A with him about the synergy of foods and sacred geometry.
RAW SOUP RECIPE:
4 cups water
3 Swiss chard leaves (stems removed)
1-2 cloves of garlic
1-2 chunks of ginger(double up for immune boost)
1-2 chunks of turmeric (double up for immune boost)
2 Tbls of chick pea miso
Half a bunch of parsley
5-6 leaves of basil
3 inch strip of kombu
1 1/2 cups of mung beans (sprouted and then cooked on medium heat for 10 minutes)
Blend together in a blender until creamy smooth. This should make at least 2 servings.
MY Q&A WITH MICAH SKYE ABOUT HIS (MOSTLY RAW) GREEN SOUP
These questions came about after I mentioned to him that my first attempt at this soup turned our way too salty. The reason? Because I didn’t have sprouted mung beans in my fridge the morning I wanted to try this, but I did have eggs and had been wanting to try raw egg. So, I simply replaced the mung for the egg and gave it a try. Oh my, not again. (You can’t shame a girl for trying to be resourceful, we have our own egg laying hens.)
Micah mentioned that the synergy of the food in the recipe he has formulated is not broken, so don’t try to fix it. He did encourage me to continue to be creative in the kitchen, and even encouraged eating raw eggs, but not in this soup.
My interview questions below stem from that conversation….
Me: You mentioned to me that the “synergy” of the foods is sacred geometry. Can you explain that please? It sounds so intriguing to me.
Micah: The word synergy in the dictionary is defined as: two or more things functioning together to produce a result not independently obtainable. The definition of sacred geometry in the dictionary is: geometry used in the planning and construction of religious structures such as churches, temples, mosques, religious monuments, altars, tabernacles; as well as sacred spaces. In sacred geometry, symbolic and sacred meanings are ascribed to certain geometric shapes and certain geometric proportions. If we look at our body as a temple or sacred space, and we plan and construct our nutrients from food using a proportional balance to create a nutritional synergy that promotes optimal health, then we create a nutritional sacred geometry.
Me: You mention that this soup goes “right to the blood stream.” Please explain.
Micah: When you purée food it takes on a form that does not need to be broken down by the digestive system with much effort…in fact, it begins absorbing into the body immediately through the blood stream…especially when raw or living in content. It is one cleanest and most effective ways to absorb the most nutritional content from your food.

I personally took this soup each morning for a week as a way to pre-cleanse into my big cleanse. I just finished my cleanse and will now be using this soup to come out of my cleanse optimally as well. Giving thanks!
MORE ABOUT MICAH SKY
My name is Micah, and one of the paths presented to me in this life that of the healer. Upon moving to LA, I began my conventional training at the Touch Therapy Institute where I studied in a variety of arts and sciences. At the time I lived next to a mysteriously quirky man by the name of Taman McCall, who began training me in a neuro-muscular science he had been developing for the last 25 years. Seeing my willingness to learn Taman took me on as an apprentice, and began training me. Eight years later, I refined his science, structured it and wrote a manual for teaching it, and was given the honor of naming it, “N.M.R.T (Neuro-Muscular Release Technique)”.
I lectured weekly and developed a private practice until my departure from LA to the sacred land of Kauai. It was on this sacred land that I continued the design and development of N.M.R.T and wrote the manual that encompasses the science in it’s integrity. It is my goal to start a school for this profound ancient science now revived in the modern day so that a movement of neuro-muscular therapy can help bring about the liberation of the people of this world from their past…at least neuro-chemically. The rest is up to you!
