Build Strength With Yoga And Fitness Exercises

Exercise 1: DOLPHIN POSE INTO PLANK REPEATERS

HOW TO: Come to all 4s. Lengthen your side bodies long and then bring your shoulder blades onto your back. From there lift your knees and walk your feet in, coming into Dolphin Pose.

To make the most out of Dolphin Pose really walk those feet in. However, this much inversion is not for everyone, so listen to your body. The higher your booty gets over your head, the more intense the workout for your shoulders. If you are just beginning, then keep more distance between your elbows and your toes than I have in the photo above.

Keeping your upper arm bones PERPENDICULAR to the earth, walk  your feet back into plank and hold for a breath before walking back into Dolphin Pose. This is one rep.

Do 10 reps then move on to exercise #2…

Exercise 2: BURPEES

burpeesThis is a full body exercises and it will get your heart pumping.

HOW TO: Standing at the top of your mat place your feet parallel and hip distance apart. Bend your knees and touch the floor. Jump or step back to plank and do one push up (knees up or down). Spring or step back to the top of your mat, and JUMP!

This is one rep. Rock 10 of these full throttle, then go to Exercise #3.

Exercise #3: PULL-UPS

You will need a pull up bar. The challenge here is to pull off (or better said, pull up) 10 pull ups. Use a chair to assist you if you need it. I did at the end of my set. Do 10 to complete one round of this challenge.

TOTAL WORKOUT: 5 times through!

Go through this circuit for a total of 5 rounds! So, now go back to exercise #1 and start round 2, and keep going. Get it, get it, don’t stop, until you have completed 5 rounds total!!!
