I feel incredibly blessed to have such amazing students in each of my classes. Some have been so consistent in their own practice, coming to class 3 times a week. What is so beautiful about this is to be able to witness the growth, transformation, strength, body awareness and a deep desire for well-being flourishing as each week passes. These fruits are developing over just a few months with their consistent and playful dedication.
One of these students I am referring to recently wrote a blog on her wedding photography on Kauai website about her inspiration from Anusara yoga and her desire to carry that with her into and through 2011. Her blog is from the heart and I know you will enjoy it. Make sure you click the link at the end to see her amazing photography too! Thanks for the love Keri Cooper. You are one talented, fun and beautiful woman! (Pictured here with her mama on the beach during our 108 sun salutations/offerings during Global Mala this past year. So cool!)
Testimony and Blog Post From Keri Cooper Photography
My first blog of 2011! Right about now everyone is talking about their New Years resolutions. Naturally this is a time to reflect on the past and what we want to change for our future. My yoga instructor, Samantha Fox posed this question to us on our last class of 2010- “What good things will you bring from last year into the new year?” Well for me the answer came loud and clear. In 2011 I am happy to be continuing my new passion that I picked up last year, Anusara Yoga.
I found Samantha Fox and her Yoga Yurt on the Northshore of Kauai in the summer of 2010 and I was completely hooked after the first class. Soon I was in the yurt 3 times a week, 2 times a week for Booty Boot Camp, a hardcore workout/fitness class, and once a week for Anusara class. I also attended some of her intensive seminars that were incredible, heart-opening experiences. Samantha is an amazing teacher. Her meditations are always inspiring and she really explains the why’s and how’s of every pose. The principles of correct body alignment are no longer a foreign language to me and I am eager to go deep into this practice and push the limits of my body.
So, here it is:
Keri’s Favorite Things About Anusara Yoga:
1. •Detoxifying my body through deep breathing.
2. •Stress release
3. •Improved posture
4. •Balance
5. •Stronger immune system
6. •Strength
7. •Confidence
8. •Opening to grace
9. •Better agility and stamina to take better pictures, and stay ahead of the brides & grooms!
10. •Nurturing myself makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
11. •Overall healthier mind, body, spirit.
A yoga session with your loved one is beautiful way to connect to yourself and each other while here on Kauai. What a great way to unwind for your vacation, wedding, or honeymoon. It will be your favorite activity on the island for sure.
